Liza Morales (l.), who spent 10 years with Lamar Odom, commemorated what would have been their late son Jayden’s 10th birthday on Tuesday.
A longtime girlfriend of Lamar Odom is commemorating their late son Jayden on what would have been his 10th birthday.
Liza Morales, who spent 10 years with the former NBA and reality star, shared a heartfelt message on Twitter Tuesday in honor of their youngest child, who tragically passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in 2006.
“Happy 10th Birthday to our Guardian Angel, our beloved son, Jayden,” Morales wrote on Twitter. “#BirthdayInHeaven.”
The mournful post also included a photo of a bevy of colorful balloons floating in the sky amongst the clouds.
Morales, who has two other children with Odom, opened up about losing Jaden at just six months old in 2012, calling the experience “traumatic” for both her and the ex-Los Angeles Laker.
“The loss never leaves you, but it does get better,” she told a parenting blog titled “Mommy’s Dirty Little Secrets,” according to Us Weekly.
“We have pictures of Jayden around the house and the kids and I talk about him all the time,” she continued. “We are in a place of peace and acceptance.”
In October, Morales and their two children — Destiny and Lamar Jr. — visited the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year at the hospital in Las Vegas while he was still in a coma after he was found passed out and frothing at the mouth at a Nevada brothel.
Odom’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, was the one who arranged their trip from New York to visit him, according to E! News.
Morales shared an uplifting message on Twitter shortly after visiting her longtime boyfriend, writing: “The TRUTH is God is good. All the time.”
“Continued prayers for my children and their father,” she continued. “Thank you for the support and well wishes.”
Odom emerged from the coma four days after being rushed to the hospital. He is currently still recovering in a Los Angeles hospital, with a source telling Us Weekly last week that he is slowly improving.
“He actually gets a little better every day,” the insider told the magazine. “He talks a bit more each day and walks with a walker, but still has trouble processing his thoughts. It’s very slow but little by little.”
